Swan Hill Community House

Occasional Child Care:

Friday mornings 9am - 12noon at the former Swan Hill Central Pre-School building, cnr McCrae & Splatt Sts.  Cost: $2.50 per hour per child

Thursday Afternoon Group:

Thursdays 1pm - 3pm at Swan Hill Community House. Low cost and loads of fun!

Over 30's Social Group:

Participate in social functions & activities as a member of a group. Meet every fortnight at the Swan Hill Club. Cost: $2.00 per session plus outing costs.

Crochet Classes:

Mondays 1pm - 3pm. BYO crochet hook and wool. Cost: $2.00 per session

Groovy Girls:

Tues Oct 15th, 22nd, 29th. Wed Nov 6th, Tues Nov 12th & 19th. 4pm-5pm.

Culminates in a Fashion Parade on Tuesday 26th November. Cost: $20.00

 This is a program for Year 7-9 girls, focusing on building a healthy self-esteem. Includes:

  • Nutrition
  • Funky Chicks
  • Exercise
  • Hair Care/Makeup
  • Fashion Parade

Breast Cancer Information Session:

Monday 28th October, 2002. This is an information session on breast cancer detection and management, as part of Australia's Breast Cancer Day.

12 noon to 2pm. Guest speaker is Robyn Northey. Luncheon provided

Tai-Chi for Beginners:

Monday evenings, 5.30pm to 6.30pm. Commences 28th October for 6 weeks

Cost: $2.00 per session.

Skills.Net Basic Internet Training:

Free basic Internet Training Workshops

Saturday 26th October, 23rd November. 9.30am to 3.30pm (1 hour lunch)

This course covers:

  • Understanding Internet jargon
  • Finding your way around the World Wide Web
  • Effective Use of Search Engines
  • Email:  sending/receiving, sending attachments, Carbon Copying. You will be set up with an online email account

Morning/ Afternoon Tea provided. Book early to avoid disappointment!

Xmas Decorations for Children:

Saturday 26th October, 2002. 1.30pm - 4.00pm

Cost: $20.00 (includes materials). Morning Tea Provided

Making Xmas Swags:

Saturday 9th November, 2002. 9.30am - 12noon

Cost: $15.00 (includes materials). Morning Tea Provided.

Learn Folk Art:

Saturday 16th November, 2002. 9.30am - 12.30pm.

Cost: $15.00 (includes materials). Morning Tea Provided.

Patchwork Pincushions:

Saturday 26th October. 9.30am - 12noon. Contact Community House for a  list of requirements. Cost: $2.00

Scissors Keeper with Tassel:

Saturday 2nd November 2002. 9.30am - 12noon. Contact Community House for a list of requirements. Cost: $2.00

Card Embroidery Workshop:

Saturday 23rd November, 2002. 10am - 2pm.

Cost: $15.00 (includes materials).  Morning Tea Provided.
